Ethics Requirement for Designation Completion

Modified on Wed, 3 Jun at 10:17 AM

All Institutes designations require completion of a free online ethics course before your designation is awarded.

Tip: The ethics course is free and entirely online. It can be completed at any point during your designation journey.

What is the ethics requirement?

All Institutes designations require completion of a free online ethics course. The course includes quizzes at the end, and you can retake the quizzes if needed. There are no printed materials — the course is fully online.

Which ethics course should I take?

  • Ethics 312 — If you plan to pursue the CPCU designation at any point. This course includes the CPCU Canons and applies toward all programs, including CPCU.
  • Ethics 311 — If you do not plan to pursue CPCU. This course applies toward all programs except CPCU.

If you need CE credits toward a Producer or Adjuster license, a CE version is available.

How to access the ethics course

  1. Log in to your Institutes account.
  2. Go to My Courses & Exams.
  3. Find the Ethics course under your active courses and select Launch Course.

When will my designation be complete?

Once you complete the ethics course, your designation completion will be reflected in your grade history within 24–48 hours. Diplomas are automatically ordered and typically arrive within 8–10 weeks.

My ethics course expired

Ethics 311 and 312 can be re-registered at no cost. Any modules you already completed will automatically carry over.
