Who can apply for a waiver?
If you've earned a master's degree or a non-Institutes professional certification, you may be eligible to waive one or more CPCU courses.
How to apply
- Log in to your Institutes account.
- Go to My Account → Learning Resources.
- Find and complete the Waiver Request Form.
- Submit the form along with the waiver fee and any required documentation (such as transcripts).
Processing time
Allow two weeks for processing once all documentation is received. If your application is not approved, the fee will be refunded in full.
Important: Waiver opinions cannot be provided by phone or email. You must submit the formal application.
International students
International MBA or graduate degree holders should complete the International Education Exemption Application and may need a credential evaluation from WES (World Education Services).
Do previous Institutes designations provide CPCU credit?
Some do. Check your Progress Tracker for cross-credits. Note that some older waivers (e.g., AIC for CPCU) may no longer apply due to curriculum changes. Your Progress Tracker reflects your specific situation.
