Learn how to find a CPCU study group or instructor-led class to support your exam preparation.
TIP: Studying with a group or in a structured class can help you stay on track and connect with other CPCU candidates in your area or industry.
What study options are available for CPCU?
In addition to self-paced online study, CPCU candidates can take advantage of two additional formats:
- Study groups — Peer-led groups where candidates work through course material together, share insights, and keep each other accountable. Many are organized locally through CPCU Society chapters or employer networks.
- Instructor-led classes — Structured courses led by experienced instructors, offered by CPCU Society chapters and other organizations.
How do I find a study group or class?
- Go to theinstitutes.org.
- Navigate to Plan My Education → CPCU → CPCU Study Groups & Classes.
- Use the search tool to find options near you or available online.
You can also check with your local CPCU Society chapter, as many chapters organize or promote study groups for candidates in their area.
Do I have to join a study group or class?
No. Study groups and instructor-led classes are optional. All core study materials — including online courses, practice exams, simulated exams, and the QuizMe app — are included with your course package and are designed to support self-paced preparation.
Can my employer organize a study group?
Yes. Many companies organize internal CPCU study groups for employees pursuing the designation. If you're interested in setting this up at your organization, your account manager or Customer Success team can provide guidance.
