When you complete a designation, your diploma is automatically ordered and mailed to you. Transcripts and duplicate diplomas are available by request.

Important: Do Institutes designations expire? No. None of The Institutes’ designations (CPCU, AINS, AIC, ARM, AU, etc.) expire or require ongoing CE to remain valid. The CPCU in Good Standing program ended December 31, 2025 — see CPCU Society, Conferment & Good Standing. CE for your state insurance license is a separate obligation managed by your state.

CPCU candidates: the matriculation requirement — a one-time fee plus an online ethics course — must be completed before the CPCU designation is awarded. See CPCU Matriculation: Requirements, Fee & Timing.

Diplomas

Important: Diplomas take 8–10 weeks for processing and delivery. They are not available for immediate download. If you haven’t received yours after 10 weeks, contact Customer Success.

Your diploma is mailed to the preferred address on your Institutes account within 8–10 weeks of completing your designation. No action is needed — it’s sent automatically. Make sure your mailing address and phone number are current in your profile, as missing contact information can delay processing.

  • Associate designations (AINS, AIC, AU, etc.): 11×14 inches
  • CPCU: 13×18 inches

Duplicate or Replacement Diplomas

If your diploma was lost, damaged, or shipped to a wrong address, you can request a replacement for a fee. Contact Customer Success with your student ID and the designation you need reissued.

Name Corrections

If your name has changed since earning your designation (marriage, divorce, legal name change), you can request a corrected diploma. Update your name in your account first, then contact Customer Success to request a reprint.

Transcripts

Official transcripts — for use in applying for college credit — can be ordered for a fee through your account.

How to Order a Transcript

  1. Log in to your account at TheInstitutes.org.
  2. Click your name and go to My Account > Students > Account Services.
  3. Select Transcript Request and follow the prompts.
  4. Complete your purchase at checkout.

What’s Included

Important: Transcripts are official academic records for college credit applications. If you need a letter confirming your designation for an employer or licensing authority, see Obtaining Designation Verification & Confirmation Letters instead.

Your transcript covers the objective, learning outcome, instruction method, and credit recommendation for each course you’ve completed. International delivery is available — additional shipping fees may apply.

Digital Badges

Some designations include a digital badge through Credly. If a badge is available for your designation, you’ll receive an email from Credly after your designation is confirmed. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.
