How to Get Your Completion Certificate Resent

Modified on Thu, 20 Aug at 12:19 PM

After passing an exam, your completion certificate is typically emailed to you automatically — it’s not something you download. If you didn’t receive it, here’s how to get it resent.

Important: Completion certificates may take up to a few hours to arrive after passing your exam. Check your spam or junk folder before contacting support — the email may have been filtered.

Before You Start

  • Confirm you’ve passed the exam — log in and check My Courses for your results.
  • Make sure your email address is correct in your account profile. Certificates are sent to your preferred email.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.

How to Request a Certificate Resend

Your certificate isn’t something you download — it’s emailed to you, and you can resend it yourself any time:

  1. Log in to your account at TheInstitutes.org.
  2. Go to My Courses and find the course marked Complete, showing the date you passed the exam.
  3. Click Email Certificate on that course’s card. This sends the certificate to the email address on your account profile.
  4. If it still hasn’t arrived after a few hours, check your spam or junk folder, then contact Customer Success with:
    • Your full name and student ID
    • The course/exam name (e.g., CPCU 550, AINS 101)
    • The approximate date you passed

Name Incorrect on Your Certificate?

Important: Your certificate pulls your name from your account profile. If your profile has incorrect information (such as a degree title in the name field), it will appear on the certificate. Update your profile first, then request a reissue.

If your certificate shows your name incorrectly (duplicated, misspelled, or outdated):

  1. Go to My Account > Profile and verify your name is correct.
  2. Update it if needed, then save.
  3. Contact Customer Success to request a corrected certificate.

Completion Certificates vs. Diplomas

  • Completion certificates are issued per course/exam — you get one each time you pass.
  • Diplomas are issued when you complete an entire designation program (all required courses). See Transcripts & Diplomas for diploma-related questions.
