Online course materials are available for one year after purchase. If you need more time, you can request a free extension — but you’ll need an active exam registration first.
Important: Course materials and exam registrations are separate purchases with separate expiration dates. Purchasing course materials does not register you for an exam, and registering for an exam does not include course materials.
How to Access Your Course
- Log in to your account at TheInstitutes.org.
- Go to My Courses & Exams.
- Find your course and select Launch Course.
How Long Do I Have Access?
Online course materials expire one year from the date of purchase. After that, you will no longer be able to access the content.
How to Get an Extension
Important: Extensions require an active exam registration. You must commit to and pay for an exam window before an extension can be granted — simply requesting more time without an exam registration is not enough.
If your materials are expiring and you still need them, you can request a free one-time extension by contacting Customer Success. Here’s what’s required:
- Register and pay for an exam in an upcoming testing window.
- Contact Customer Success to request the extension.
- Your access will be extended to align with your exam testing window.
What If My Course Already Expired?
- If you have an active exam registration, contact Customer Success — they may be able to reinstate access.
- If you don’t have an active exam registration, you’ll need to repurchase the course materials.
- Any exam registrations you purchased separately remain valid within their registered testing window.
Transferring an Exam? Read This First
Important: Transferring your exam to a different testing window does not automatically extend your course material access. After paying the transfer fee, contact Customer Success separately to request a material access extension.
Received an Expiration Notice?
If you’ve already passed your exam, you can disregard course expiration notices. They are automatically generated and do not affect your grade or completion status.
