If you’re running out of time on your exam window or your course materials are about to expire, you still have options. Here’s what to do.
Your Exam Window Is Closing
Important: If you don’t test and don’t transfer before the window closes, your exam registration is forfeited. You’ll need to register and pay the full exam price again. There is no grace period.
If your testing window is ending and you’re not ready to test:
- Transfer your exam to the next testing window before the current window closes. A transfer fee applies.
- Online transfers are available through My Courses & Exams until the last day of the window.
- Phone transfers are available until 6:00 p.m. ET on the last business day of the window.
See Understanding Exam Transfers & Study Materials for the full transfer process.
Your Course Materials Are Expiring
Important: Transferring your exam does not automatically extend your course material access. After transferring, you must contact Customer Success separately to request a material extension.
Online course materials expire one year from purchase. If they’re about to expire:
- Register for an exam in an upcoming testing window (if you haven’t already).
- Contact Customer Success to request a free extension — extensions require an active exam registration.
See Course Access, Expiration & Extensions for details.
There Is No Overall Program Deadline
Your designation program does not have a completion deadline. You can take as long as you need to finish all required courses — there are no cohorts or mandatory timelines.
The deadlines that do apply are: - Exam testing windows — quarterly periods when you can test - Course material access — expires one year from purchase - Exam registrations — valid only for the registered window
Each of these can be managed independently.
