Once you register for an exam, your registration is tied to a specific testing window. Here’s what happens if you need to cancel or miss your exam.
Cancellation
- Exam registrations can be transferred to a future testing window before the current window closes. A transfer fee applies.
- Outright cancellations and refunds are generally not available once an exam is registered.
Forfeiture
If you do not take or transfer your exam by the end of the testing window:
- Your exam registration is forfeited.
- A forfeiture fee may apply.
- You will need to purchase a new exam registration for a future window.
Important: Transferring your exam does not automatically extend your study material access. Contact Customer Success separately to request a course extension after paying the transfer fee.
Extenuating Circumstances
Exceptions to the cancellation policy may be considered for:
- Death in the immediate family
- Medical emergencies
- Catastrophe duty
- Other approved circumstances
To request an exception, email specialconditions@theinstitutes.org with documentation supporting your request.
