You must bring your own physical calculator to your Institutes exam. There is no on-screen calculator in the exam platform.
What’s Allowed
Bring a basic or business/financial calculator that:
- Is not programmable
- Has no alphabetic keys
- Cannot store words or text
Scratch paper is permitted for notes or calculations during the exam (no study notes).
Tip: If in doubt, use a simple handheld, non-programmable calculator and clear your workspace before check-in.
What’s Not Allowed
Common Misconception: A laptop’s built-in calculator app is not permitted under proctoring policies.
- Phone, tablet, or computer calculators
- Programmable models or devices with text storage
- Any device that violates the Virtual Exam Rules of Conduct
What to Know
- You are responsible for bringing an approved calculator on exam day.
- If you take an exam that requires calculations without an approved calculator, you will not be provided one.
