How to Test
Important: If you’re using a work laptop, corporate VPNs and firewalls frequently block exam access. Test from the same device and network you plan to use on exam day. If your employer’s network blocks the exam, try a personal device or home network.
- Open Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
- Go to TheInstitutes.org and log in.
- Verify your camera and microphone are working — check browser permissions under Settings > Privacy > Site Settings.
- Confirm your browser is up to date — check for updates in your browser’s settings menu.
- Disable your VPN and any ad blockers or pop-up blockers.
- Try loading a course from My Courses & Exams to confirm the platform loads correctly.
On Exam Day
- Use a quiet, well-lit, distraction-free space
- Close all other browser tabs and applications
- Have scratch paper ready (permitted for calculations)
- A basic calculator without memory storage is allowed
- No phones, tablets, second monitors, study notes, or AI tools
