Technology Requirements for Virtual Exams

Institutes exams are taken virtually on your own computer. Make sure your system meets these requirements before exam day.

Minimum Requirements

Important: Run the Tech Check before exam day to verify your setup. Do not wait until exam day to discover compatibility issues.

  • Operating system: Windows 10+ or macOS 10.13+
  • Browser: Latest version of Chrome or Edge (recommended)
  • Internet: Stable broadband connection (wired recommended over Wi-Fi)
  • Webcam: Built-in or external webcam (required for proctoring)
  • Microphone: Built-in or external microphone (required for proctoring)
  • Display: Single monitor only — disconnect or disable additional monitors

Tips for Exam Day

  • Close all other applications and browser tabs before starting.
  • Use a private, quiet room with no one else present.
  • Connect to the internet via ethernet cable if possible for the most stable connection.
  • Disable pop-up blockers for the exam platform.
