All Institutes designation exams are taken online from any location with a computer, webcam, microphone, and internet connection. There are no physical testing centers.
Important: In-person testing centers (like Prometric) are not available for Institutes designation exams. All exams are delivered virtually through online proctoring.
What You Need
- A laptop or desktop computer — phones and tablets are not supported
- A webcam and microphone — must stay on for the entire exam
- A stable internet connection — disable VPNs before testing
- A quiet, well-lit, distraction-free space
- Latest version of Chrome, Edge, or Firefox
When You Can Test
You can take your exam anytime during your registered testing window — day or night, 24/7 — up until 11:59 p.m. ET on the final day. No appointment or scheduling is needed.
Taking Your Exam from Outside the U.S.
Yes — you can take your exam from any country with a reliable internet connection. All orders are processed in U.S. dollars.
Note: Some states require a live proctor present for CE credit eligibility. If you need CE credits, check your state’s requirements before exam day.
