Privacy & Record Release Policy

Modified on Wed, 3 Jun at 10:16 AM

Your Institutes account includes privacy settings that control whether your name and designation information appear in public directories and are accessible to third parties.

How It Works

Important: If your employer or a third party reports that your name is not appearing on the website after earning a designation, check your privacy/confidentiality setting — it may be blocking public display.

  • If your account is set to confidential, your name will not appear on the public designee search or in designation verification requests.
  • This setting also prevents employers and third parties from making changes to your account without your authorization.

How to Update Your Privacy Setting

  1. Log in at TheInstitutes.org.
  2. Go to My Account > Profile > Privacy.
  3. Update your preference and save.

If you’re unable to change the setting online, contact Customer Success for assistance.
