If you’re unable to take or transfer your exam due to a medical emergency, bereavement, or other serious hardship, you may qualify for a fee-waived transfer through the Special Conditions process.
How It Works
Important: Contacting Customer Success by phone or email cannot resolve a Special Conditions request. You must submit the Special Conditions Form with documentation. The review team cannot provide advance decisions by phone or email.
Special Conditions requests are reviewed by a separate team — not standard Customer Success. You must submit a formal request with supporting documentation.
Steps
- Download the Special Conditions Form from your account or request it from Customer Success.
- Complete the form with your name, student ID, exam name, and a description of your circumstances.
- Attach supporting documentation — examples include:
- Doctor’s note or medical records (for illness/surgery)
- Death certificate or obituary (for bereavement)
- Military orders (for deployment)
- Other official documentation supporting your request
- Submit the form to the Special Conditions team as directed on the form.
- Allow up to 2 weeks for review and a decision.
What Qualifies
Common qualifying circumstances include:
- Serious illness or surgery
- Bereavement (death of a close family member)
- Pregnancy complications
- Military deployment
- Natural disaster or regional emergency
What to Expect
- If approved, your exam will be transferred to a future testing window with the transfer fee waived.
- If you also need a course material extension, mention this in your request — it’s not automatic.
- If not approved, you can still transfer your exam through the standard process (transfer fee applies).
