AI Tutor is an embedded, course-aligned study companion built directly into every lesson in your course, so help is available right where you’re studying — no separate tool to open.
How It Works
- Embedded everywhere you study — AI Tutor is available on every lesson in your course, not in a separate window or destination.
- Highlight-to-ask — Highlight any text in a lesson and ask a question about that exact passage. AI Tutor responds with an explanation grounded in what you selected.
- Quick Actions — One-tap options like Key Takeaways, Simplify This, and Why It Matters cover the most common study needs without typing a question. AI Tutor can also explain a diagram or summarize a video.
- Open chat — Ask anything about the current lesson — clarify a term, connect ideas, or request examples and study guidance.
- Course-aligned answers only — AI Tutor is built entirely on The Institutes’ proprietary content. It never pulls from the open internet and never uses your interactions to train external AI models.
Common Misunderstandings
Important: AI Tutor will not answer actual exam questions for you. For exam-integrity reasons, it explains concepts and can offer sample questions to practice with, but it won’t give you the answer to a real exam item.
Note: AI Tutor is the next evolution of the Assignment Assistant. The biggest difference is that it’s built directly into the content instead of opening in a separate pop-up window, and it can answer questions about a specific passage you highlight — something Assignment Assistant couldn’t do.
Note: AI Tutor is rolling out gradually by designation. As of now, it’s available in CPCU, AIC, and AU 60. In October 2026, it expands to all of AU, AIDA, and ARe. Assignment Assistant is being retired — if your course isn’t listed here, no AI study tool is available yet for your designation.
