Understanding How the Mobile App Works

Modified on Wed, 1 Apr at 3:00 PM

The Institutes’ mobile app — Course Companion — gives you on-the-go access to practice quizzes for your courses. Here’s what it does, what it doesn’t, and how to get started.

Important: Mobile app content does not automatically appear when you enroll in a course online. For many courses, app access must be separately provisioned by Customer Success. If your courses aren’t showing after syncing, contact support — syncing alone won’t fix it.

What the App Includes

  • Practice quiz questions for enrolled courses
  • Access to quiz content for select designation courses

The app does not include full course content, flash cards, or study materials. Those are only available through the website at TheInstitutes.org.

How to Get Started

  1. Download The Institutes Course Companion from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Log in using the same email and password as your Institutes website account.
  3. Tap Sync to load your enrolled courses.

If courses don’t appear after syncing, contact Customer Success to have app access provisioned for your account.

Common Issues

My courses aren’t showing up

This is the most common issue. Syncing, reinstalling, or logging out won’t help if app access hasn’t been provisioned. Contact Customer Success with:

  • Your full name and student ID
  • The course(s) you need in the app

I can’t find the app

The app was renamed from QuizMe to The Institutes Course Companion. Search for “Course Companion” or “The Institutes” in your app store.

Login isn’t working

Make sure you’re using the preferred email address on your Institutes account — not a personal email. Your app login must match your website login.
