Exam Timing & Testing Windows

Learn about testing windows, exam timing, and key rules before you test.

Virtual exams are available at any time during the testing window—no appointment required. You may launch your exam at any time until 11:59 p.m. ET on the final day of the window.  The testing window schedule is:

• Q1: Jan 15–Mar 15
• Q2: Apr 15–Jun 15
• Q3: Jul 15–Sep 15
• Q4: Oct 15–Dec 15

If a testing window ends on a weekend, it extends to the next business day.

TIP: Don’t wait until the last day of the window to test or transfer—technical or eligibility issues may limit your options.

Exam length, attempts, and scoring

• Timed: 65 minutes
  
• Questions: 50
  
• Attempts: One attempt per purchase
  
• Passing score: 70%
  
• Results: Pass/non-pass shown immediately; official records update within 48 hours

Not ready to test?

• You may transfer your exam to the next testing window on or before the last business day of your current window.
  
• A transfer fee applies.
