The Code of Academic and Professional Integrity defines the academic honesty and professional conduct standards expected of all Institutes students and designees, and how violations are handled.

The Code defines:
- Expectations for academic honesty and professional conduct
- Procedures for reviewing potential violations
- Possible penalties for violations
The Code protects the credibility of The Institutes’ designations and the public trust in insurance professionals.
Who is covered
- Students and potential students
- Designees in The Institutes’ programs
- CPCU candidates, who are also bound by the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct
Examples of prohibited conduct
The following are not exhaustive:
- Using or claiming designations you have not earned (on resumes, websites, business cards, job applications, or certificates)
- Misrepresenting course completions
- Unauthorized use or distribution of Institutes materials beyond fair use
- Any violation of exam rules of conduct
- Altering or misrepresenting grade reports
How this connects to exam day
- The Code underpins the Rules of Conduct affidavit you accept before each virtual exam.
- Data forensics and record-and-review proctoring are used to enforce the Code consistently and fairly.
What you will and won’t receive after an exam
Important: Numeric scores and exam content are not released, in accordance with long-standing policy to protect exam integrity.
- You will receive your pass or non-pass result.
- For non-pass results, you’ll receive a topic-level performance report.
