Segment Exams: What They Are and Who Can Take Them

Modified on Wed, 3 Jun at 10:17 AM

Segment exams split a traditional full-length Institutes exam into three shorter, separate exams. Passing all three segments earns full credit for the course — the same as passing the standard exam.

How Segment Exams Work

  • A traditional exam is divided into three segments, each shorter in length.
  • You prepare for and take each segment individually.
  • You must pass all three segments to receive complete course credit.
  • Segments are taken virtually during standard testing windows.

Which Courses Offer Segment Exams?

Segment exams are currently available for:

  • AAI 301
  • AAI 302
  • AAI 303

No other courses currently offer segment exams.

Pricing

Important: Segment exams do not qualify for the 50% exam fee reduction available to students, teachers, and regulators. If you’re eligible for a discount, check whether the standard exam format is more cost-effective.
