If your prepaid agreement (PPA) code isn’t working at checkout, it’s usually because the code doesn’t cover the specific item you’re ordering or the agreement has insufficient remaining balance.
Common Errors
Important: A PPA code covers only the items and packages listed in the agreement. It may not cover all course formats, exam registrations, or add-ons. If you’re unsure what your PPA includes, check with your employer — Customer Success cannot modify PPA terms.
- “Item not covered by this agreement” — the course or package you selected may not be included in your PPA. Check with your HR or training department to confirm what’s covered.
- “Insufficient hours left in this agreement” — your PPA balance has been used up. Contact your employer to request additional funds or a new agreement.
- Code only applies a partial discount — some PPAs cover specific items (e.g., course materials but not exams, or one package type but not another). The remaining balance is your responsibility.
How to Use a PPA Code
- Log in to your account at TheInstitutes.org.
- Add the course or exam to your cart.
- Enter your PPA code in the discount/agreement code field at checkout.
- Verify the discount amount before completing the order.
If the Code Still Doesn’t Work
- Double-check for typos or extra spaces in the code.
- Confirm the code is for The Institutes (not CEU or another program).
- Ask your employer whether the agreement is active and funded.
- Contact Customer Success with your PPA code, the item you’re trying to order, and a screenshot of the error.
