Collegiate Studies for CPCU

Modified on Wed, 3 Jun at 10:16 AM

The Collegiate Studies for CPCU program allows college students to earn credit toward the CPCU designation through approved university courses.

How It Works

  • Participating universities offer courses that count toward CPCU requirements.
  • Students who earn a B or higher in an approved course can apply for a waiver of the corresponding CPCU course — up to 2 waivers total.
  • All CPCU requirements still apply: 8 courses, 8 exams, plus Ethics 312 and matriculation.

Earning the Collegiate Studies Certificate

To earn the Collegiate Studies for CPCU Certificate, complete both:

  • 2 approved courses that waive credit toward the CPCU designation — a grade of B or higher is required in each
  • Ethics 311: Ethical Decision Making in Risk and Insurance — this course is free and required for the certificate

The certificate signifies a commitment to proficiency and integrity in risk management and insurance.

Financial Support Options

Several awards are available to collegiate students:

Full-time undergraduate students also qualify for free CPCU Society membership.

Course Materials & Pricing

  • Course materials are $79 per course for collegiate students.
  • Available in both online and textbook formats (online recommended).
  • Bulk pricing is available for orders of 50+ copies of the same course.
  • ARM and CPCU elective materials remain $80 for textbooks, with 50% off online courses.

ACE College Credit

Institutes courses are approved by the American Council on Education (ACE), and credit may be transferable to participating universities.
