Finance & Regulation Designations Overview

Modified on Wed, 1 Apr at 3:00 PM

The Institutes offers designations for professionals working in insurance finance, compliance, and regulatory roles.

How It Works

  • ARC (Associate in Regulation and Compliance) — Covers insurance regulation, compliance frameworks, and regulatory processes. Designed for state regulators, compliance officers, and professionals who interact with regulatory agencies.
  • CIIM (Chartered Insurance Investment Manager) — Covers investment management specific to insurance company portfolios.

Note: There is no single “regulatory complaints” designation. The ARC program is the closest fit for professionals who handle regulatory matters.

Common Misunderstandings

  • These designations have no educational prerequisites — anyone can enroll.
  • Course format is self-study with online materials and proctored exams.
