I Received a Password Reset I Didn't Request

Modified on Wed, 3 Jun at 10:17 AM

If you received a password reset email or account notification you didn’t request, here’s what to know.

Most Likely Cause

Automated system emails are occasionally sent in error. If you did not request a password reset, you can safely ignore the email — no action is required.

When to Take Action

  • Do not click the link if you suspect the email is a phishing attempt. Check that the sender is from a legitimate @theinstitutes.org address.
  • Change your password if you believe someone else may have access to your account — go to TheInstitutes.org and use the Forgot Password flow.
  • Contact Customer Success if you continue to receive unwanted emails or if your account shows activity you don’t recognize.
