Eligible students, educators, regulators, and military members may qualify for a 50% reduction on standard exam fees.
Who qualifies for 50% off the standard exam fee?
Important: Full-time students who are also employed full-time do not qualify for the reduced fee.
You qualify if you are engaged full-time as:
- A teacher or student* at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or its possessions
- An employee of a state or federal insurance regulatory agency (including IRES) in the U.S. or its possessions
- A full-time active-duty member or reservist in the United States military (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy)
How to apply the discount
Important: Documentation must be submitted via email before your registration can be processed.
- Gather your supporting documentation — a letter from your college registrar, department head, or government employer confirming full-time status.
- Email your documentation to CustomerSuccess@TheInstitutes.org.
You have two options:
- Email to register: Include the completed Exam Registration Form in the same email as your documentation.
- Call to register: Submit your documentation by email first, then call Customer Success to complete your registration.
- Repeat this process each time you register.
Military deployment benefit
Full-time active-duty military members, National Guard, and reservists who are deployed in a combat zone outside the continental U.S. may qualify for free exams and study materials. Contact Customer Success at CustomerSuccess@TheInstitutes.org with proof of status and deployment orders.
