Enrolling with a GEICO/EdAssist Letter of Credit

Modified on Mon, 19 Oct at 10:00 AM

GEICO is moving its education benefit from EdAssist to Guild. During the changeover, EdAssist letters of credit can’t be used to enroll in Institutes courses and exams.

Important: GEICO’s blackout period runs from Oct. 17, 2026 through Jan. 4, 2027. If you enroll during this time, you must pay out of pocket. Once the Guild platform launches on Jan. 4, 2027, you can submit that coursework to GEICO for reimbursement.

How to Enroll During the Blackout Period (Oct. 17, 2026 – Jan. 4, 2027)

  1. Place your order on TheInstitutes.org and pay with a standard payment method, such as a credit card.
  2. Save your order confirmation and receipt — you’ll need them for reimbursement.
  3. After Guild launches on Jan. 4, 2027, submit your coursework to GEICO through Guild for reimbursement.

Note: The Institutes can’t process EdAssist letters of credit during the blackout period (Oct. 17, 2026 – Jan. 4, 2027). Questions about reimbursement eligibility or the Guild platform should go to GEICO’s education benefits team.

After Guild Launches (Jan. 4, 2027)

The updated enrollment process for GEICO associates using Guild will be available soon, applicable to enrollments beginning Jan. 4, 2027.
