Applying Eligibility Discounts

Learn how eligibility-based exam discounts work and how to apply them during registration. 


Who qualifies

The following groups may receive 50% off the standard exam fee. Eligibility is verified during the registration process.

  • Active-duty military
  • Students and educators
  • Regulators (state or federal employees)


How to apply

  1. Sign in to your account and go to My Courses & Exams.
  2. Add the exam to your cart, ideally at the start of the testing window (best pricing).
  3. Select the applicable eligibility discount during checkout.
  4. Be prepared to provide verification, if requested.


If your discount does not appear, contact Customer Success before completing payment.


Retake discount (separate from eligibility discounts)

  • A same-window retake discount may apply when you retake an exam within the same testing window.
  • Retake discounts are applied automatically when eligible.
  • Eligibility discounts and retake discounts cannot be combined.


Promotions and organizational discounts

  • The Institutes periodically offers limited-time discounts on course materials.
  • Exams are excluded from material-only promotions.
  • View current offers on the Special Offers & Discounts page.


TIP: Discounts must be applied before checkout and cannot be retroactively added after payment.
